American Airlines announced a temporary suspension of service at Florence Regional Airport (FLO) effective from October 7, 2020 through November 3, 2020. While this is certainly detrimental news to our region, we remain hopeful that this will not be the end of a long relationship with American Airlines. Florence Regional Airport’s management team has reached out to our Local, State and Federal Representatives to ensure that they understand the impact this decision will have on our local economy and we encourage the community to do so as well. We support the request for action to strengthen the financial footing of the airline industry because that will ensure a continuation of air service to smaller regional markets, like Florence. The airport, in a collective effort with the local Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, is working to get air service back to a reliable schedule. The staff of Florence Regional Airport will continue normal hours of operations and will make every effort to inform of any decisions that will impact our tenants and passengers of the Florence Regional Airport.
