Airport Custodian

The Florence Regional Airport is accepting applications for custodians for janitorial services of the Airport terminal building and office spaces on weekends (Sat/Sun, 7 AM – 3 PM) and holidays.

Work Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize all restrooms and fill dispensers
  • Gather/Empty all trash bins and containers
  • Sweep, mop and vacuum floors
  • Clean, dust and wipe furniture and fixtures
  • Keep running inventory of cleaning supplies and report when low in supplies
  • Must Adhere to the airports safety policies to ensure a safe work environment for everyone
  • Attention to details
  • Perform other related job duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 2+ Years janitorial cleaning experience
  • Must be reliable and able to work weekends and holidays
  • High degree of professionalism and Interpersonal Skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 30-50lbs
  • Must pass a Pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Other test required post employment

Airport Custodian Application Package

Public Safety Officers I (Firefighters)

The Florence Regional Airport is accepting applications for Public Safety Officers I (Firefighters) to perform firefighting duties on behalf of the Airport District. Florence Regional Airport is looking for Firefighter I & II Certified Officers for the protection of life and property at the Florence Regional Airport, including, but limited to aircraft and structural firefighting, airfield safety inspection, airfield condition reporting and facility safety services.  PSO II’s performs and adheres to the enforcement of Airport and TSA rules and regulation, state and local laws.  PSO I (Fire) must meet the following criteria:

Minimum Qualifications and Training:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid SC Driver’s License with good driving record required
  • Firefighter I & II Certification (Preferred)
  • Emergency Vehicle Driver Training Course
  • Forty (40) Hour Medical Training
  • Completion of an FAA approved Basic Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) Course post employment
  • Must pass a Pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Pre-Employment Background Check required
  • Pre-Employment Physical Fitness Test required
  • Other test and training certification required post employment

PSO I (Fire) Application Package

Public Safety Officers II’s (Police)

The Florence Regional Airport is accepting applications for Public Safety Officers II (Police) to perform law enforcement duties on behalf of the Airport District. Florence Regional Airport is looking for SC Class 1 Law Enforcement Officers to provide safety of people and property at the Florence Regional Airport and enforce applicable federal, state and local laws to include Airport Rules and Regulation.  PSO II’s (Police) must meet the following criteria:

Minimum Qualifications and Training:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid SC Driver’s License with good driving record required
  • SC Criminal Justice Academy Class 1 Law Enforcement Certification
  • Emergency Vehicle Driver Training Course (Preferred)
  • Must pass a Psychological Evaluation required
  • Must pass a Pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Pre-Employment Background Check required
  • Pre-Employment Physical Fitness Test required
  • Other test and training certification required post employment

PSO II (Police) Application Package

Airport Maintenance Worker I

The Florence Regional Airport is accepting applications for Airport Maintenance Workers for grounds, building and airfield maintenance repair services.

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the Airport Maintenance Worker I operates tractors, mowers, dump trucks and other motorized vehicles, hand and power tools for grounds, building and airfield maintenance and repair. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Training

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Two (2) years’ experience operating machinery, equipment and tools to perform semi-skilled and skilled work in construction and maintenance repair.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug screen test
  • Valid SC Driver’s License with good driving record

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate tractors, dump trucks, mowers, hand/power tools and other equipment in support of maintenance and construction operations.
  • Cut grass, trim shrubs/hedges, pick up trash and maintain grounds
  • Maintain airfield, safe runways, taxiways, sidewalks, roadway, entrances and airport parking lots by removal of debris, cracks and erosion.
  • Performs maintenance task to buildings/space leased to airport tenants
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks in seasonal or unfavorable weather conditions (Examples: Shoveling, lifting and applying material as needed to airport runways, taxiways, sidewalks, roadways, entrances, etc.)
  • Performs basic preventive maintenance on airport equipment as required
  • Identify equipment needs for assigned projects; transport and deliver equipment from site to site
  • Assist with repair and maintenance of outside lights, fence, airfield and hangar gates.
  • Must observe and follow all safety rules and regulations as established by the Department.

Work Environment/Conditions
Field Environment, exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke/fumes; exposure to seasonal weather conditions

Physical Demands

  • Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
  • Walking, standing, climbing, bending or crouching for extended periods of time\
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Operating motorized equipment and vehicles
